A look at Nokia’s Comes with Music: Comes With Music is a newly launched Nokia service which includes music from the top record companies with its handsets for a flat upfront fee. It’s Nokia’s attempt to slowly get into the Apple-dominated music business. It includes unlimited downloads for a year from all four major labels accounting to about 4 million songs… Read more here.

Jimmy Wales’ Wikia Search Project Launches Apps: In the latest of many attempts by a wide variety of players to improve search results beyond Google’s iconic 10 blue links, the community information service Wikia Inc. on Oct. 8 is launching what cofounder Jimmy Wales informally calls “Facebook apps for search.” Officially dubbed WISEApps, for Wikia Intelligent Search Extensions, the platform is a way for both individuals and businesses to create new kinds of search results for a particular keyword. Wales, who also cofounded the popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia, launched Wikia Search last January as a project to create an open-source search engine… Read more on Business Week.

Still Searching For A Video Business Model, Google Introduces The YouTubevertorial: It wasn’t so long ago that we wondered if YouTube would ever start to flex its marketing muscles. Now it is trying to squeeze more money out of the ads on its homepage and just today it introduced the YouTubevertorial. Starting with music and videogame partners, YouTube will begin inserting click-to-buy links below select videos. Right now, these affiliate links connect to iTunes and Amazon (see them at the bottom of the screenshot above?), but more are coming… Read more on TechCrunch.
