Twitter + Stats = TweetRush killing Twitter hype

Twitter’s hype may start sinking if no Twitter representative takes the floor and provides with some business data. Speculations are increasing about the volume of content generated by the company of the whale and the bird since they’ve done some moves into the business efficiency direction cutting some costs. And those actions have fired up again questions about their business model and numbers. Numbers the company doesn’t want to share, but that TweetRush is spreading.

According to their data tracking using their application connected to Twitter, they’ve released the following data: 850 000 daily tweets sent (I think that is the number of unique messages written and not the overall number of messages sent) for around 170 000 active users a day. If we compare those stats with the ones released by TechCrunch last April, we see the active users have been multiplied by seven while the total user hasn’t really increased, from 1 million to 1,3 million according to Twitdir.com stats.

Twitter community has turned to be more active although not having grown much. And there’s still a huge wave asking why that web service’s made for.
